Those rumours that I kept hearing about the Easter Bunny being spotted in our neighbourhood proved to be true. The house is full of baskets of eggs and Easter lilies. At the moment, my mother is in the midst of working her magic as the incredible meal that we will be enjoying this afternoon begins to take shape. Soon, the house will be full of hungry people, myself included, as another Easter celebration begins.

Lemon Meringue Tart

Dscn5130Note:  In Toronto’s Bloor West Village, there used to be a lovely restaurant and catering spot called Lemon Meringue. As the name would indicate, the place was famous for its lemon meringue pies. While the location is now closed (the owners still provide catering services), I was fortunate to catch a show on the Canadian Food Network that demonstrated one of the members of the Lemon Meringue team making a lemon meringue tart. Ever since then, this pretty tart has become a staple at Easter time.
