The Cream Puff is taking a short break in the form of one week in a warmer climate. I’ll be back refreshed and ready to begin the two-week baking marathon that is my lead-up to Christmas.
For those of you that have been around this blog long enough, you’ll remember that last year I took a trip in December as well but not before I left you some homework.
Well I certainly don’t want you getting all lazy while I’m gone. So here’s another homework assignment.
Guess what dessert is pictured in the photograph above.
The first person to guess correctly, wins a copy of this book.
See you in a week!
Ciao!

Hmm, wild and crazy guess – something savory designed to look like tiramisu. Maybe a mashed potato parfait with cumin.

SumoSquirrell
My first guess was a trifle, of sorts. But, looks like there’s more than one so I’m stumped.
Still, looks yummy!

I’ am Isabella, and I am from Venice, do you know the venitian name of cream puffs?, they are called “storti con la panna”, it was diffused to go specially into two places in Venice and eat them. Now it is not so common any longer, but when we were younger , our parents use to take us to eat them in winter with hot chocolate !!!

Marie
How bout Tiramisu rice pudding??
Thanh
It definitely looks like Tiramisu.
But maybe the trick is that we have to be inventive and give this dessert type name.
With the chocolate egg thing at the top, maybe there are some in the middle as well. Hence I’m going to guess that the dessert is
“Christmas Treasure Hunt In The Snow”

I may be way out in left field here.. but the custardy substance in the glass puts me in mind of tapioca, perhaps layered with a bit of cocoa powder, with some sprinkled on top for good measure and topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean?

congratulations for this amazing blog and greetings from Spain

I still believe it’s tapioca, and if it’s not cocoa sprinkled on it, then it’s espresso powder, with the chocolate covered espresso bean on top. Looking forward to finding out the result.
