I hope everyone is enjoying a tremendous holiday season. I certainly had a great Canada Day and as often happens in life, my family got a reminder of what’s important: your loved ones.
This is a short Magazine Mondays post and it’s all about the simple and good things: pastry, hand-picked strawberries, pie and lots of family and friends to enjoy it with.

This post makes me wish it was still strawberry season down here because it looks absolutely to-die-for. And, come to think of it, I’ve never had a strawberry pie before, so that clearly needs to be fixed.

I made that pie a few weeks ago and it was delicious. For the pastry I used 1 cup white 1 cup spelt and 1 cup almond meal. Its my goto pastry from now on.

This is simply a gorgeous pie. I’ve never made a baked pie using strawberries. It really looks glorious!
